MAJOR THEME
Some of the central themes that comes across in "To The Lighthouse" are that of a "woman's role". As I was reading the first chapter, I was introduced to Mrs. Ramsey who played a dominant role of what women were portayed as in this time. Mrs. Ramsey was portrayed as a "house wife" who took care of her children and her husband. She was so caring and generous. She gave what was just "littering" in her home. That was what women "were supposed to do".
